NIGERIA / BIAFRA CONFLICT

An International Commission of Jurists Find Prima Facie Evidence of Genocide

Throughout the ages, individuals have used religion as a means of subjugation, pillage and enslavement of other peoples and their lands; the cobbling together of over 200 ethnic nationalities with nothing in common into an unwieldy and unworkable entity called Nigeria, is a case in point.

At least two dastardly acts engineered by the Boko Haram (an Islamic terrorist group) occurred in the failed state Nigeria on Friday, August 26, 2011; the much publicized and roundly condemned bombing of the UN building in Abuja in which at least 23 people lost their lives; and the just as horrific but little mentioned Adamawa State event in which at least 31 innocent Nigerians lost their lives.

“The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja literarily came to a standstill yesterday as a suicide bomber wreaked havoc at the United Nations (UN) House with a high calibre Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The bomb shattered most parts of the seven-storey building. The police confirmed 18 dead, while many were injured, while unofficial, but reliable Red Cross and security sources put the casualty figure at over 130 persons.”

Noting the implication and acknowledgement, the Nigerian Vanguard newspaper quotes Boko Haram:

“Yusifiyya Movement, also known as Boko Haram, yesterday, said it attacked the United Nations (UN) building in Abuja because United States (US) and the UN are supporting the Federal Government to persecute Muslims in Nigeria.

One Abu Kakah, who claimed to be speaking on behalf of the group, made the statement. He spoke to journalists on phone in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, just as the US embassy said Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) had arrived Nigeria following the suicide attack.

Kakah said the sect considered the US, the UN and the Nigerian government as common enemies and would continue to attack them because they are infringing on the rights of the Muslims.”

Of the two, the Adamawa incident unmistakably showed the mindset of the executioners since in that case a specific group of individuals were targeted:

“An eyewitness told The Guardian that the suspected Boko Haram members invaded the Gombi Council headquarters in four buses and launched their first attack on the police station, where several police officers and personnel were killed. The eyewitness maintained that the group seized arms at the Gombi police headquarters. The Guardian further gathered that the group moved to the bank in Gombi and killed the manager and others for not reciting a portion of the holy Quran.

Sources at the bank told The Guardian that when the suspected Boko Haram invaded the bank, they killed those that failed to recite a particular portion in the holy Quran as they directed their victims.”

What was once the targeting of the hated Ibo (Igbo) has now become both a religious and ethnic nationalities problem!

It should, of course, come as no surprise to any that has followed the bloody history of this failed state, Nigeria, with a history that continues to be written in blood even before the 1960 birthing of Nigeria. Consider one of the many quotations from one of the three founding fathers (Azikiwe, Awolowo, and Bello) of Nigeria, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello (1909-1966), the unquestioned authority in the then Northern Nigeria, who considered Nigeria a conquered territory; a policy that his followers have continued to follow and embrace!

“The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the North as willing tools and the South as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future”.

Parrot Newspaper, 12th October, 1960, recalled by Tribune, 13th November, 2002.

Or one of the many quotations from his followers that culminated in the Genocaust (Igbo genocide and holocaust), 1966 pogrom against the Igbo and their neighbors in Northern Nigeria in which at least 50,000 – 500,000 innocent children, women and men were slaughtered:
“What brought the Ibos into this Region? They were here since the Colonial Days. Had it not been for the Colonial Rule there would hardly have been Ibo in this region. Now that there is no Colonial Rule the Ibos should go back to their Region. There should be no hesitation about this matter. Mr. Chairman, North is for Northerners, East for Easterners, West for Westerners and the Federation for all (Applause)”

In 1965, ALHAJI USMAN LIMAN (SARKIN MUSAWA), amongst many fanatical Northern Islamic leaders made the above statement, a reaffirmation of the flawed vision and biased interpretation of the desired Allah promised way of life to the vast majority of their peoples that had and has been playing out since the birthing by the Colonial masters of the failed state Nigeria that has now finally come to a head with the drive by the Islamic sect, Jama’atu Ahlus Sunnah Lid Da’awati Wal Jihad otherwise known as Boko Haram, to claim this their mandate from Allah!

That there continues to be a deliberate attempt to mislead and rile their followers is not in question. The continued attempt unless acceptance of their domination is acquiesced to, to use the Islamic religion to attain their diabolical goals, including the murder of hundreds of thousands of their fellow countrymen and countrywomen who are by choice non Muslims or who are of different ethnic nationality can only be explained through the context of the quote from their glorified leader, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello, about the ethnic nations in Nigeria; “The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the North as willing tools and the South as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future”.

The quotations below from January 15: Before and After detailing the Genocaust (Igbo genocide and holocaust); events that as far back as 1964, is a replay of their ongoing attempt to continue their strangle grip on the other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria through every available means; what was once an Igbo persecution has now turned into a problem of all ethic nationalities:

“A few excerpts from speeches made during debates in the Northern House of Assembly in February to March, 1964 will serve to illustrate the extent of the bitterness nursed against Easterners in the North over the years, the feeling which was to be fully expressed in the pogrom of May - October, 1966:

Mallam Bashari Umaru:

“I would like (you), as the Minister of Land and Survey, to revoke forthwith all Certificates of Occupancy from the hands of the Ibos resident in the Region (Applause) …”

Mr. A. A. Abogede (Igala East):

“I am very glad that we are in a Moslem country and the Government of Northern Nigeria allowed some few Christians in the Region to enjoy themselves according to the belief of their Religion, but building of hotels should be taken away from the Ibos and even if we find some Christians who are interested in building hotels and have no money to do so, the Government should aid them, instead of allowing Ibos to continue with the hotels.”

Mallam Mukhtar Bello:

“I would like to say something very important that the Minister should take my appeal to the Federal Government about the Ibos in the Post Office. I wish the numbers of these Ibos be reduced … There are too many of them in the North. They were just like sardines and I think they were just too dangerous to the Region.”

Mallam Ibrahim Musa (Igala North-West):

“Mr. Chairman, Sir, well, first and foremost, what I have to say before this Hon. House is that we should send a delegate to meet our hon. Premier to move a Motion in this very Budget Session that all the Ibos working in the Civil Service of Northern Nigeria, including the Native Authorities, whether they are contractors or not, should be repatriated at once …”

Mallam Bashari Umaru:

“ … there should be no contracts either from the Government, Native Authorities, or private enterprises given to Ibo Contractors. (Government Bench: Good talk and shouts of ‘Fire the Southerners’) Again Mr. Chairman, the Foreign Firms too should be given time-limit to replace all Ibos in their firms by some other people.”

The PREIMER (Alhaji The Hon. Sir Ahmadu Bello, K.B.E., Sardauna of Sokoto):

“It is my earnest desire that every post in the region, however small it is, to be filled by a Northerner (Applause)”.

Alhaji Usman Liman (Sarkin Musawa):

“What brought the Ibos into this Region? They were here since the Colonial Days. Had it not been for the Colonial Rule there would hardly have been Ibo in this Region. Now that thee is no Colonial Rule the Ibos should go back to their Region. There should be no hesitation about this matter. Mr. Chairman, North is for Northerners, East for Easterners, West for Westerners and the Federation for all (Applause)”.

Alhaji Mustafa Ismaila Zanna Dujuma (Minister of Establishments and Training):

“Mr. Chairman, Sir, since 1955 this government had laid down a policy. First Northerners, second expatriates and third, non-Northerners. Mr. Chairman, Sir, I have noted very carefully all the speeches made by all the members in the Honorable house and I am ready to put up to my Government their views and I hope my Government will give them consideration … I think these two things are the major things I have to answer now. One is on scholarship and the other is on how to do away with the Ibos.”

The Minister of Land and Survey (Alhaji the Hon. Ibrahim Musa Gashash, O.B.E.):

“Mr. Chairman, Sir, I do not like to take up much of the time of this house in making explanations, but I would like to assure Members that having heard their demands about Ibos holding land in Northern Nigeria my Ministry will do all it can to see that the demands of members are met. How to do this, when to do it, all this should not be disclosed. In due course, you will all see what will happen (Applause)”.

A new chapter has now been opened - “Sources at the bank told The Guardian that when the suspected Boko Haram invaded the bank, they killed those that failed to recite a particular portion in the holy Quran as they directed their victims”. The first chapter was the coalition that was put in place against the Ibo (Igbo) in which every ethnic nationality saw the Ibo (Igbo) as the problem in Nigeria, leading to the Genocaust (Igbo genocide and holocaust) in every part of Nigeria. As long as other ethnic nationalities followed the dictates of the Hausa/Fulani overlords, all was well. But now that these nationalities are plotting different paths after more than forty years of finally debunking the carefully crafted lies against the Igbo that was used to wipe them up into a zombie like frenzy and keep them in line, all bets are now off. The final chapter in which their pious followers who having been spoon fed with lies against non Muslims and now run amok can only portend the unwinding of Nigeria, a fact that the UN, USA, Britain, …, must accept unless Black Lives are worthless!

It is important that we be reminded of the bloody past; the yearly ritual of accepted murder and mayhem and spilling of innocent blood egged on by political heavy weights, even predating the independence of Nigeria, to the un-initiated this hopefully will constitute an eye opener:

“In 1945 Northern Nigerians set upon Biafrans resident at Jos and massacred them. But the British Administration did not take the matter seriously and did not even conduct an inquiry into the gruesome episode. …

“In 1953, again, Northern Nigerians with a ‘universally unexpected degree of violence’ attacked and massacred Biafrans living in Kano. This time the British were constrained by the nature and degree of the holocaust to order an inquiry. The official report, compiled by the British administrative officer, produced incontestable evidence of intention, deliberation and organization on the part of Northern Nigeria authorities. …

“Bestialities and indignities of all kinds were visited on Biafrans in 1966. In Ikeja Barracks (Western Nigeria) Biafrans were forcibly fed a mixture of human urine and faeces. In Northern Nigeria numerous Biafran housewives and nursing mothers were raped before their husbands and children. Young girls were abducted from their homes, work-places and schools and forced into sexual intercourse with sick, demented and leprous men. … As a matter of fact, for a long time after the massacres of that year, the feeling was current in Nigeria that Biafrans had not yet been sufficiently reduced both in number and in high-level manpower. It was an open secret that many Nigerian Army Officers and men were urging on their leaders that the two million Biafran survivors of the pogrom, rejected and dejected people who had abandoned all their possessions and taken refuge in their homeland, should be pursued thither and once for all destroyed along with their home-keeping kinsmen.”

NIGERIA/BIAFRA CONFLICT
An International Commission of Jurists Find Prima Facie Evidence of Genocide

A consideration of the political realities in Nigeria is in place including the explanation and concoction of the term, GENOCAUST (Igbo genocide and holocaust):

“The compliant treats the political issues very exhaustively and argues in a convincing manner that the federal structure of government, by virtue of its being imposed by a colonial power upon the various ethnic groups of the Federation, without proper consideration of the wishes of these groups, was, from its inception, unworkable and untenable in the light of political realities. The Complaint argues that the seeds of the present conflict were sown in the colonial days and that, whereas it was intended that the federal structure instituted upon Independence would be a blessing for the various ethnic groups, it has become a curse under which the peoples of Biafra, the North, the West and the Mid-West are smarting, and that all these should have been foreseen by the colonial power. In order words, the 1960 Federation meant anarchy, not democracy.

In examining the failure of the principle of federation in its 1960 form, the Complaint cites and discusses examples of the reaction of the peoples within the 1960 Federation.
The vociferous demands of people in authority in all the regions to have the Federation broken up.
Acts of violence directed at the achievement of this, namely the breakup of the Federation.
Frustration borne out of the inability to effect political changes. The report suggests that this frustration resulted in the committing, with unbelievable impunity, of the most heinous crimes in human history.

The crimes are described in the Complaint all along, as genocide, but, from my investigations, it appears that there is more to it than genocide in the conventional sense. The alleged genocide committed in Biafra and, unfortunately, cited with less clarity in the Complaint, may need a different terminology in International law …

“In my investigation into the methods used in committing the atrocities against the peoples of Biafran origin, my witnesses described scenes which appear to have followed the Nazi pattern of the “final solution” which followed the Wannsee Conference.”

NIGERIA/BIAFRA CONFLICT

As the exodus of none citizens of the Islamic Republic of Arewa to their nations of origin intensify or as their flight to other symbiotic nations begin in earnest in compliance with the demands of the rightful heirs of this Islamic nation, we should be reminded of the thousands of years old adage of the Igbo, ‘odi be ndi - respect for the way of life of other peoples’ that is now even unwillingly playing out.

The leadership of the UN, the Western world, and other interested parties, in pursuit of a resolution to the continuing crisis in Nigeria, a crisis that to them has come to a head with the bombing of the UN building in Abuja, must tread softly since they are about to step into a mine field. It is important that they seek a lasting solution that will benefit all parties - the more than 200 Ethnic Nationalities in the forced union, Nigeria.

Long Live the Islamic Republic of Arewa!

We must not be deceived; this is the problem of the Islamic North!

“The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has promised to hand over its report on how to overcome Boko Haram and other security challenges facing the country soon. The ACF’s report was said to have been put in place by retired security chiefs in the North.”

Good for Arewa! They (Islamic North) created this problem, let them solve it. Do they want to fight it out? Good for them, let them fight it out! Would they prefer to negotiate it? More power to them; let them do so.

Least these our brethren forget, they should be reminded of their embraced policy that has brought Nigeria to its knees, a policy that they relentlessly pursued as it cost millions of innocent lives, including the total destruction and viability of Nigeria – a policy that has now culminated in their creation of the now 12 Islamic states (Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Yoba, Borno, Kebbi, Niger, Kaduna, Bauchi, Gombe) :

“The decision by a swath of northern, predominantly Muslim states in Nigeria to adopt a hard-line interpretation of Islamic law in 2000 has sparked sporadic clashes among residents and posed some problems for the government.
For followers of Islam, many edicts of morality and lifestyle are found in the body of Islamic law known as "Sharia" -- a set of religious rules that are observed in various ways around the Islamic world. Some states adhere strictly to codes of conduct outlined in the Quran while other more moderate nations have attempted to include aspects of Islamic law in more secular forms of governance.”

Oil and Politics in Nigeria

I guess, the monster that they created has become uncontrollable; those who seek to ride the Tiger should not be surprised if they end up in its belly. Point of order, in the first place, it is not a monster. Allah does not create monsters, no; it is a blessing, the final fulfillment of the promise of Allah to the faithful - total Sharia, a way of life!

Long Live the Islamic Republic of Arewa!

The US and European nations have every right to seek solutions and advice the leaders of the failed state Nigeria on the way forward but it is important that they first consider if it is in the interest of the Ethnic Nationalities in the forced union Nigeria to remain together or if the time has come to support the peaceful dissolution of Nigeria:

“As the concern over the Boko Haram terror attacks mount across the country, there are indications that the United States and European countries have warned the Federal Government not to enter into any negotiation with the Islamic insurgents, who have turned many parts of Northern Nigeria to a killing field since the beginning of the year.”

As we celebrate the birth of the new nation, South Sudan, it is important it be pointed out that the ethnic nationalities that comprise the Moslem North also have every right to their own country, as do other ethnic nationalities with commonalities of interests. Any attempt to prevent them from claiming this right will only radicalize them and open them to the courtship of Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups.

It is time that we admit that Nigeria was never a reality but an unworkable entity and the figment of our imagination; it is time that we allow nations that have commonality of interests to come together and finally begin to fulfill the dream of mother African. It is time that:

Each Ethnic Nationality speak for itself and itself alone;
Each Ethnic Nationality control its political space;
Each Ethnic Nationality control 100% of its resources;
Each nationality grows at its own pace.

Nigeria is dead.
Long Live the Islamic Republic of Arewa!
Long Live the Republic of Oduduwa!
Long Live the Peoples Ohacratic Republic of Biafara!
Long live other Republics born out of the death of that abomination!
Long Live Mother Africa.
